I have joined the staff of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul (CCSP) in Burlington, Vermont; a building known for its brutalist architecture and its humane people.
This is a page to share my C.V. and some pictures & videos with those who might be interested in such things.

Priest-in-Charge at 7/8s Time
Personally, I like to think the Holy Spirit is in Charge, but this title is Canonical. We are building toward full-time ministry at St. Andrew's in Colchester, VT, at 87.5% time...

The Leopold Express Strikes Again
This is Denver Katherine Leopold. She's new.
I mentioned in the post about Woody's birth that my life would change, and boy did it, but I think now we are going into extra innings.

And Now for Something Completely Different
I have been quietly working on a Master of Arts in Storytelling from East Tennessee State University (one of two schools that grants such a degree) in conjunction with the International Storytelling Center and Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee. I am happy to share that I am now a master storyteller. That is Frank Mentzer in the picture with me in front of the desk of Gary Gygax.

Fun with Woody
Remember when I said my life was going to change? Boy was that a "misunderestimation" [sic]. It has and in all the best ways. Woody is so smart, I started him on a five-string bass.

CDSP and ECMN SfF Faculty!?!
I am pleased to announce that this fall I will join the instructors at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific's (CDSP) Center for Anglican Learning and Leadership (CALL) in conjunction with the Episcopal Church in Minnesota's (ECMN) School for Formation (SfF). That's a lot of acronyms, but I am too excited to be put off by what is normally a pet peeve of mine.

Vacation Destination 2
When it rains, it pours. We were lucky enough to win a foreclosure in downtown Stowe, Vermont. This will be our retirement home, as it may take me that long to fix it up. I guess we are staying in Vermont for a while...

Back to Minnesota
Apparently the work I did in Minnesota was valuable enough to have me return. I am beginning a second tenure in Minnesota. This time, I was even able to bring Lisa along.

UEC and ECMN
I have been hired to consult with a few ministries in the Episcopal Church in Minnesota (ECMN) including the UEC (University Episcopal Community), the Episcopal Campus Ministry at the University of Minnesota. My first bit of advice for them was to get rid of the acronyms, which can be exclusive or coded-language.

Vacation Destination
We just closed on a house on the unbelievably beautiful Lake Elmore in North Central Vermont. We are close to Lisa's work and close enough to all the fun vacation things we like to do. We even have fifty feet or so of our own beach!

Vermont, Here We Come!
Part of the decision to leave Ottawa was driven by Lisa's vocational frustrations in Canada. Well, those woes are behind us as Lisa will beginning work in the great state of Vermont!

A Word About Ottawa
Ottawa did not work out like any of us had hoped. Sometimes a chapter is much shorter than is hoped. I will always treasure our times there and will hold the wonderful people we met with me in my heart.

The Next Chapter
January 1, 2017, we began work with the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa at St. Luke's parish in Chinatown. The temperature was as cold as our reception was warm.

It's Official, I'm Dr. Bob!
Thanks so much to my professors and advisors. Thanks especially to my family for putting up with me as I finished off my thesis and grew that beard.
Sewanee sure is pretty this time of year. If you are having trouble sleeping, here is a link to my thesis: "We Did It Wrong: The Unexpected Success of Southside Abbey."
